You all know how M$ charge like $35 for tech support. Well I'm desperate, but if they can't help me, do I get my money back?

Just call them from a pay phone and ask your question. When they ask for your information, hang up. It's fool-proof I tell you!

But I would just search the web for help. The MS tech support guys just sit there and search their own knowledge base that is freely accessed online. If they can't find an answer there, they'll just tell you to reinstall or do a system restore. Better yet, they'll tell you to buy a new copy.

You got that booked marked, dont you?

DaHoboFest, if your calling about your ram, your wasting your money. Try the memory in a different slot and see if memtest still gives errors. If it does give errors then you need to RMA your RAM.

Well, I can't speak for every Microsoft employee, but my Canadian friend used to work at Microsoft and told me that they use the Microsoft Knowledge Base to help users with problems. It might not be true everywhere, but I'd like to think my friend isn't a liar...

...Your OS and memtest are completely and utterly different...there is no connection between them, there isn't a bit of cross-talk.

Your RAM is b0rked, more than likely. RMA it.

Oh, and btw, you get 2 free tech service calls with every copy of XP, which they never monitor. Just call the free number, if you give them a working product ID, then Voila!...
