On the Beeb: Five killed in M1 crash Five people have been killed in a 11-vehicle pile-up on the M1 in Leicestershire. Eyewitnesses say the accident happened after a military transporter jack-knifed and scattered armoured vehicles across the carriageway. Up to 60 emergency teams were involved in cutting survivors from the wreckage, airlifting two people to hospital in Birmingham and taking a further six to the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Of the two seriously injured people, one is in a life-threatening condition. Carp man.... Check that photo, the white modeo has been squashed flat by that artic trailer Heard on News24 that the MOD had already aportioned blame on a motorist that apparently pulled out in front of the MOD low loader. Seams strange to me that they are blamming the cause of the low loader losing control so early on Also this : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicestershire/2981532.stm Apparntely the truck was transporting 5 tanks, 2 on the main rig, and 3 on a trailer. Unfortunately, it seams the trailer jack knifed and broker away.
My thoughts go out to the families of those killed or injured. Horrific, can't really put that any other way.
