It's the same the other way around though. I can't stand the way OSX puts .DS_Store files everywhere.

that is indeed a ridiculous default behaviour, yeah.

note, however, yhat i said it was its default behaviour. you CAN disable that function on network drives. (besides, windows puts thumbs.db and desktop.ini files everywhere too...)

to be honest, though, that should be the default behaviour.

Aye the zealots on both sides to this. Personally I think both sides have problems. I'm happy using either OS but I far prefer OS X though. Considering this is a rev a product and early in the switch to intel there are far far less issue than I was expecting. :)

Also it should be noted that the os asked to send a report on the bug to apple and left space for you to add comments. I don't know if it will be read but thats a nice touch. You could send your rants right to the source :D

Yeah that annoys me too. I wish either os didn't leave files like this around.

The fact in os x you can search for things like thumbs.db and nuke them all in one go (well on my powerbook I could hehe) is a good thing rather than either waiting an age for windows search or deleting them manually is good.

Hopefully the bug will be fixed in 10.4.6 :)
