I've not been looking forward to this - can't afford one and I've already got a HD PowerBook. Been telling myself that the Pro app support won't be there for a year at least, and the first revision of anything is always rubbish, but it doesn't really help - I want one!!

You can always install seperate Windows OS on a seperate partition and dual boot between Mac OS and Windows OS so now you can use Software from PC. Thats one of the biggest perks of this new platform.

Hey soon you won't even need your HFS partitions and you can switch over to NTFS all together, oh wait you don't have a MacBook Pro.
    Kidding.

step aside the Inspiron 9400 core duo's on the scene now, may not have the looks but it does have the 17" and the 7800 power for about the same price.

Inspirons are butt ugly I owned one like 3 years ago and they're just as ugly now as they were back then. Is it too much to ask if Dell could invest some of those billions on a real design team

I completly agree, same across the board of pc laptops on the whole, perhaps the odd exception but very much the rule. I dont quite understand why they dont realise half if not more of the reason people buy mac's is cuz "they look nice" you'd think one laptop company wud get the idea

Acer Ferrari 4000 series has proved without a shadow of doubt that people are Asthetically driven. How many people me included were willing to shell out more money for the same system in a better looking Chassis. This has awoken PC manufactures to realize that beauty matters in this materialistic world. As if TV hasn't shown them that already lol

Give me a Titanium/Carbon Fiber/Leather Finish laptop with a Race car design and I wouldn't mind shelling out an extra thousand LOL.
Thats the way people are, computers has moved way beyond the relm of BiFocal Nerds who get excited about FSB and Ram Latency. A good laptop company needs to know how to please the material sense in modern society.
    Dells going down

becuase there a faster machine, and the emphesis of the new mac is on its core duo and its speed increase over the older mac's. Ok if you dont and u want a mac go for it. But saying the mac is good because it dual boots to windows is not really saying its better. im sure u cud boot to osx on a pc if u really wanted to, still ones a pc and ones a mac. And even tho it does dual boot to windows it wont dual boot to xp only long horn when its out. I assume your a mac lover and im sure they do have there strengths but i dont think its the right place to go into an argument osx/windows.
