I need to control my mac over the internet using my Win XP laptop. Please tell me what app I need. It needs to be freeware. Already googled, but not found something to suit - i.e. control mac from xp and free. Numerous options for mac-to-mac, or paid for etc.
Have you considered using VNC? I know nothing about this particular free distro except that it is one of many that works on os x (vine) http://www.redstonesoftware.com/products/vine/server/vineosx/index.html
I had "Chicken of the VNC" for my machine for a while, it seemed to run really slowly compared to my Vista Box (both were connecting to my Ubuntu media server). But maybe that's just the way I had the network set up for the Mac... Give it a bash if you wish, interface was clean and useful enough: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cotvnc/
