Hey guys I picked up a 9 inch monitor at a boot sale for a couple of quid. But come to find out it's a monochrome (amber) with a DB-9 connector after checking it out on the itnernet. I've thought about ordering an adaptor for my video card, but I'm starting to get the feeling that it won't work. Does anyone have any experience with this ? I'm slowly starting to have the feeling that I should just purchase a 9' greyscale VGA monitor .. But I don't want to give up until I've had a second opinion! Thanks guys!
Well, since nobody responded, and i'm assuming that's because nobody had a definitive answer, I'll post my own findings. The monitor I picked up was a monitor from a word processing machine with a D9 connector. It's quite moot becuase if I was to pick up a video card that it would work with, it couldn't handle the graphics of windows and was amber in colour. So sucks to that. What I did do was pick up a 9 inch colour monitor from ebay w/ D 15 connector. It works great with windows! So so far in this project I've gotten the guts out of the Mac SE and the monitor out of it's case. I've done a test fit and all seems to match up quite well. I plan on using a Flex ATX motherboard. The Flex ATX will support higher speed CPU's than the Mini ATX, since I plan on using it for my music composing / producing. And the Flex ATX PSU is a slim line PSU and will fit inside the SE case quite well. I'll post pics soon. I know it's been done on this site as well as others, but I hope that you still find it interesting. Cheers.
