    As a new mac user, are there any tips and hints and interesting downloads you guys think are worth mentioning?

    See the thread at the top of the apple forum, 'must have software for your mac'. Not all of it is essential exactly but fun all the same. I'd have a browse of the apple widget site, some interesting things on there.

    You can use aMSN on the mac, not sure if its universal yet though.

    I use it sometimes, but I'll be using it a lot more now since my webcam is now supported (finally!) by macam.

    aMSN supports webcams, custom emoticons, etc etc, look it up!
