Ok i put this here because its kinda Mac specific, but its also maybe gaming. But its more mac specific so i thought here would be the best bet. If im wrong sorry feel free to kick it to the proper area. ON WITH THE SHOW

So it seems that the MacHeist is starting back up again.

    http://http://skunkworks.macheist.com

so far all iv been able to gather is that it has room for a 10 character (a - j / 1 - 0) string and the only clue so far that i have been able to find in the public facing site is a comment in the HTML that reads. 10,000 MONKEYS

    anyone have any ideas

I found it to be just another way for Ryu and his mates to rip off a load of developers to make some money.

They made about $40,000 between them, and paid the devs $5000 each.

They gave an unimaginably small amount to charity, and I left that out of the profit figure.
Not sure on the exact figure, but needless to say, they were pissed off.

Lots of devs were happy about it. Most of the software I got the first time around I wouldn't have paid full-price for, and of the software I use, I'd be likely to buy an upgrade to the next full version.

But I don't really care about the politics of it. So long as the MH team adhered to the agreements they decided upon with the developers, then I'm happy. If the devs didn't like the terms after the fact, it was their own damn fault for not trying to negotiate a better deal. And you can expect they will this time around, as I think the popularity took many people by surprise.
