Anyone here using a macmice mouse? I am joining the ever growing club and getting a macbook soon and since I willl be using bootcamp a lot, I'll need a decent 2 button mouse. I tried the mightymouse at the shop but I didnt like it. I'm talking about these http://www.macmice.ca/ just incase poeple dont know what I'm talking about. They look good, and would go nicely with a my other soon to be bought mac hardware.

Welcome to the club. I recently purchased a macbook, and can definitely recommend it. I was wondering if anyone made a good looking, cheap apple-style mouse, and this seems to be it. With a quick google I found two reviews of the bluetooth version (I'm cheap and would go for the wired one, but they seem to be pretty similar save the wired-ness)

It seems to hold up pretty well, if I hadn't spent all of my money on the actual computer then I would probably buy one. And a little more searching, now I found a new homepage. It seems that they have a version 2, and now I really want one. And with the macbook, if you put two fingers on the touchpad and then click, it is a "right click." This works really well in osx, but apparently not at all in windows (which makes sense).

I've tried the mighty mouse and it doesnt feel right for me. After googling, the macmouse was the closest thing that matches the mac style while still offering the functions of a PC mouse.

Thanks for the updated links Dizman, I never knew I was looking at the old site :wallbash:. I am digging their Danger Mouse mouse. It would compliment the white macbook very well.

I think I'll probably get the wired one in the near future. Ill let you guys know what it's like when I get it.

Bah what a shame. They looked really nice too.

I really want a mouse to go with my macbook. Also Ill be using a regular mac keyboard. I just want everything to go together.

After some googling I found this http://www.macheaven.co.uk/?page=proddetail&prod=14692 . Looks quiet nice and would suit the mac setup. I could even sprey it white from the inside to look more mac like.

...I don't understand what you found so terrible about the mighty mouse... I love mine :). Seriously, I'm sure you'll get used to it, and as you seem interested in "co-ordinating" your setup, an Apple product is obviously the route to go down. My mighty mouse seems pretty precise, and the new wireless one is a laser mouse, so *should* be even better...

I know this isn't really on topic but I just think you should give the MM another go.

I don't think Mac Mice are that bad (the two button flavour), but if there's one thing everybody who's not a fanboy, or made of gold and silver can agree with, is that they're notoriously overpriced.

I am a personal fan of the low end, super cheap 2 buttons and a scroll wheel $15 OEM mouse, but for the price of a Mighty Mouse, you could do way better. I guess the Bluetooth makes it a little more worthy of attention now, but essentially, it's just a really simple mouse.

I like the scroll nipple's way of being able to scroll in all directions, but it feels flimsy and fragile. The design is pretty nice (depending if you're a fan of minimalist design).

I can say much about the new laser tracking one, but I know the optical one doesn't work that well. It could be just the mousepad of the person I was testing the mouse on, but it loves to skip around.

On a plus, it's designed for Mac OS, so the buttons for pulling up Dashboard/Expose is nice.

All in all, it's a basic, but very expensive mouse, that comes with the pseudo-snob (dare I say, narcissistic, to occasionally downright ignorant) appeal that comes with other Mac products (and other fanboy generating things for that matter).

The mighty mouse just doesnt feel right for me and although a neat idea I didn't like the feel of the scoll ball. Also since my open university software is for windows I'll be using XP on bootcamp for most of the time thus not needing the benifits of the mighty mouse.

I've been a Mac User all my life and I can tell you that those mice are very similar to the Apple mice. I'd go for something else, like the Logitech Mac set.

I just received my MX1000 in the post this morning, and have been using it for about 30 mins, and it is much smoother than my Pro Mouse, (so they call it...). It tracks perfectly, unlike my P Mouse, that only ever tracked the right way about 10% of the time. :)
EDIT: I just read a review on the mouse, and it tracks badly, not rechargeable, and has a slow wake up time. http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/macmice_the_mouse_bt_review
