I guess you can get that in any shop that has something to do with photo-stuff.

finnaly, a question for macroman,

what did you use to cut the hole in the box?

my experience with dremel + plastic has been pretty bad, plastic tends to melt from friction!!!

 

new film for any LCD?

Macro: Am I correct in assuming that the polaroid film trick would work with any LCD? And all it does is invert which blocks are dark/which are colored? I am thinking this would look super-sweet on a Blue LCD...inverting the LK-204-25PC polaroid film would give *dark* background and *light* characters


Speaking of which, other than the MO LK-204-25PC, does anyone know of any bloo-*backlight* LCDs? Like the ones in cell phones and such? The MO (especially with the GP outputs) is cool but not "real blue" with its white backlight. Twould be cool to have an inverted-character blue-backlight LCD. Bright blue characters on dark background, with blue background when backlight is on. YUMMY!

If not, come ON Henry and pitch that idea to your bosses already! lol

hey thats a awesome mod! I saw it over at the crystalfontz fourm.. the question is you said you got the box from tekoenclosures.. someone here pointed out that you could get a box from Radio shack.. they gave this link..

That box looks a little too long and a little too thin.. Another question..How many Lcd's in all can you hook up to the computer?

If you want an easy life then three, two to serial ports and one to your parallel port...

you can get serial-usb and parallel-usb convertors though so you should be able to connect many using usb (though I've not tried it so please don't quote me).

Also there's a thing called l2c which lets you connect a lot of displays up too, but you'll have to talk to matrix orbital about that...

I have two running together quite happily, there's another on the shelf over there but I think two's enough at once

Is this box large enough? I really don't like the look of this one..I like the one that was done in the mod..I might jsut get that one instead.. The size is 6x3x2"

 

ferrarif50, that picture radioshack has is NOT the actual product.

they use the SAME PICTURE for ALL the radioshack project boxes!!!

if you dont beleive me, just look at one of the bigger boxes that mathmatically would be a square, but they still show that pic

 

So i'm better off getting the one from Tekoenclosures Model 660 F.9 ? It's cheap anyway like $10

my point was that the box is not what the picture is.
thats not a bad thing, im just saying dont go by the picture.

 

Ok cool I will check my Radio Shack and see what they have..To tell you really I never seen any..or maybe thats just because I never looked Oh well It's still a cool Mod anyway.. I don't know if I will do the Lighting under their... Btw This is a kick ass site! I need to build a baybus... Too bad I broke my Radio Shack soldining Iron... I needed to change the tip becuase it was bent and I pulled the whole Heating Eleament out.. so i gotta buy another.. And I need a Dremel as well So I will be busy.. Anyone know if their is any program that can show your game Starts? Like in Unreal Tourny?

 

Post New Pictures?

The mod looks awesome, but some of the pictures are fuzzy. I'm particularly intersted in Closeup Shots / Higher-Res photos of the underside of the base, and the back of the LCD Display where you soldered on the 0v and 5v connectors.
