    Intel Macs

Intel is ready, Apple is ready.

First mac with Intel processors today.

    And its the iMac.

Same sizes, still has iSight, Front Row, Apple remote.

Runs on Intel Core Duo, Dual core x86.

Overall benchmarks show that it is 2 to 3 times as fast. (Well, duh)

10:12 am First Mac with Intel processor today.

10:12 am The iMac - built in isight camera. front row. incredible reception.

10:13 am No other desktop PC can match it

10:14 am Same sizes. 17", 20". Same design. Same features (isight, front row, apple remote), Same price. What's different.

10:14 am Intel Core Duo. an amazing chip.

10:14 am Intel Processor. 2-3x faster than the iMac G5.

10:15 am Two cores. each one faster than the G5.

That's what I'm hoping for. I still want to know which system is getting it though. "System" includes laptops, last I knew ;)

10.4.4 is entirely native on Intel processor. All the applications included are universal and native on Intel.

    What does this mean?

iLife and iWork '06 are unibin, the rest of their apps will be by march. You can trade in your current version for the unibin distro.

Quark is in its beta unibin stage, shipping today.

Rosetta runs (MS?) Office great on the dual core intel iMac.

PowerPc chips have different instrucion sets to that of intel, x86 wont run in ppc. but they havn't just ported it so it does work (this would be slow, kinda like running windows apps on linux i guess) they have programed it properly

hahah, having the MS guy there. Apple and MS friends at last?
