    No need to rebuy!
Anyone who has the original version of either Mafia 2 or 3 in their Steam library will find the "Definitive Edition" of that game has been automatically added.
    Just install & play.

EDIT:- No free copy of Mafia 1 Definitive. See below.

Pretty sure that only applies to 2&3 while 1 needs to be bought again.

Seems to be the case for me (i.e. no free Mafia 1 Definitive Edition). Oh well.

Ah, my bad. I don't have #1 to check. I've corrected my earlier post.

Don't think I have played the first one but enjoyed 2 and 3, I wonder if this will feel old after the others

If you like Mafia 2 you'll like Mafia 1 as well, they are very similar to each other in terms of game play loop, story telling style etc.

At least with 3 I felt like I actually had some impact on the story. The illusion of choice, even if ultimately the choice was between bad thing A, B, C or D, where one was slightly less bad than the others.

With 2, Vito would boldly declare something was wrong and he wouldn't do it, then go along with whatever the others did anyway. That really broke Mafia 2 for me, as so many of the utter disasters would have simply not happened if Vito had had the balls to say no to Joe and [I forget the other guys name] when they came up with yet-another-dumbass-idea.

I'm going to go replay Mafia 3, just to check that I'm not mis-remembering.
