I'm subscribed to two publications: Railway Modeller, Bachmann Collectors Club Those are the only two i need to be honest. Sam
I read the mags I see come past my desk at work, at the very least skim through all the articles and reviews to see whats going on. I used to subscribe to FHM but it went downhill last year so stopped that. Have a TopGear sub and also picking up Front a the mo. Considering grabbing either AutoCar or AutoExpress but yet to decide which one to go with.
I've only ever read a few Magazines, and they're typically books of adverts with some out-of date content slipped in for good measure. I never buy them.
Both. I have subscriptions to Wired and Clash and purchase NME quite often but obviously use the internet obsessively as well.
I subscribe to T3 (clubcard vouchers Cheesecake) but pretty much everything else I prefer internet/podcasts I may get a CPC sub when I've moved but I've already gotta try and get T3 sorted out so less hassle = win.
Can't beat a stack of magazines by the toilet for when last night's curry makes it's reappearance. Got a few Xbox360 mags and a lot of Metalhammer mags. Need to get a few airsofting ones at some point, any recommendations?
I only get two magazines: Truckin' and Golf Digest (which I just throw out anyways) I really only read them when I go on trips, vacation or have a long drive because the Internet isn't there
I subscribe to Custom PC and Stuff, and I usually buy a few magazines a month (car and photography magazines) You can't beat reading a magazine, I have a rack full of magazines next to my throne and I will continue to buy magazines even if I can get the same content online. The only mags I don't buy any more are xxx ones as the web content on that subject is so much more better.
Stopped buying magazines as the content can be found online quicker and from more than one source which allows for a balanced view. Ooo, i do like the 'Random' purchase, head in and pick up a magazine you would usually never pick up, and learn something!
I currently have CPC and Empire sub'd. Gave up Empire for the 5 glorious months when Filmstar existed (RIP), I really don't like or trust Empire that much any more but it's better than Total Film and I'm not quite ready for a Sight & Sound sub just yet Used to buy PC Gamer but it got thinner and dearer and the disk was utterly pointless. Almost sub'd GamesTM but I haven't bought the last two so I'll hold off for now. Also used to get Total Guitar religiously... must actually check if it's cheap to subscribe....
I used to get PCFormat, but then I began to realise that 90% of it's content was already on the net on the sites I frequent 3 weeks before it was published.
I used to subscribe to PC Pro but feel it went downhill over the last couple of years and now only sub to Custom PC. Years ago I subbed to PC Zone but gaming mags really are irrelevant these days (IMHO). Daily visit to BluesNews and I'm up to date
I used to get PC Format on sub bu since buying a Convience store 7 years ago I read all mine for free! Still prefer paper when it comes down to it. Regards GiGo
I always found EDGE offered something different for the most part as far as gaming mags go... But even now I'd rather skim through Kotaku and Joystiq on my iPhone on the train than buy a magazine. Sight & Sound I used to get when I was studying film at uni, but only because it was full of info you couldn't really get online.
Subscribed to CustomPC as soon as it came out, slowly found the content/reviews was aimed at more of the high-end kit, that I could never justify buying. Went back to PCPro, been subscribed to that for the last few years, its quite nice to pick up the mag rather than trawling the internet, particularly if you spend 9-5 on a PC in work anyway..
New Scientist Scientific America BBC Focus .net Used to be a huge PC Plus reader but I think pretty much all PC related mags have gone down the pan (even CP which I picked a copy of up last month)
