For any of you who've ever seen Band Of Brothers, the main character has died.

If you haven't seen it, DO.

If you've ever seen the series you'll know how stupidly brave, and lucky this man was.

    RIP

Much respect to the man and his company.

Also sad that we wouldn't have known about him if it hadn't been for a TV series. How many other brave and daring things happened to turn the War in our favour?

Too many for a reasonable person to try and think about. I loved Band of Brothers and loved this guy, from seeing/hearing his commentaries and interviews.

I loved that show, amazingly I was thinking about it on the way to work today.

I remember watching all the extra's on the DVD's I was bought years ago, the things those men went through and live with until now, are incredible.

    "Were you a hero?"
"No, No, but I served in a company of heroes"

I actually feel really sad to know that he's passed on now.

He did live to be 92. That is a ripe old age IMO. And he still seemed really sharp for being that old. I can only pray that I'll have a mind like that at that age....

    RIP.

Just a while back watched the series in 720p in two days. It's just superb. See it if you haven't, and re-see it if you have.

Is it just me that suspects that the BBC article writer either copy and pasted the name every time, or didn't realise that Maj is short for Major? Maybe it's the army in me, but it seemed a little disrespectful to continually call him "Maj".

Sorry, that should have been a "your". Even grammar Nazis make typo's! :)

    Deliberately ironic or deliciously ironic?
