Ola! I love MakeMKV for its ease of use however my beta is too old hence won't run, and the MakeMKV website's been down for a while. Any recommendations of what I could use in the meantime? I mainly convert BluRay/DVD rips from their native M2TS or ISO or VIDEO_TS formats... Many thanks, Cleggy.
I use AnyDVD HD with Handbrake and ripbot264. MakeMKV did work for me, but I dislike his constant "beta" phase and considering what he was offering illegal and yet still wanted to charge £40 for a licence! Shady business...
Thanks chaps, I'll look into both. So far I've tinkered with HandBrake to encode into MKV lossless, however a 4GB DVD rip ends up around 120GB. Weird! I'm all for quality but know that I'm simply wasting disc space when the output file is larger than the input file...
I'm devastated Maybe it's only temporary though. Anyways, you can apparently still download and use the current beta until the end of September: http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=352610&postcount=52
