I love the harsh look. The way the steel hasn't been painted and the metal claps are clearly visable. I can't really put my finger on it quite yet. Good work.

    Thanks!

MiNiMaL_FuSS: heh so far I've earned 72 euros (exact amount!) from my music so it's just a hobby ;D

    Computer desk plan again:

Dude, congrats on being featured on Makezine.com's blog! I was excited as hell when I saw this was a bit-tech link. :D

Sadly, I can't see the pics from work, but I'll look when I get home.

Makezine generated too much traffic and my dropbox got suspended, photos are not visible at the moment. :( Where should I upload photos to prevent this from happening, dropbox is otherwise really handy but now I hate the traffic limit.

Here's a new desk idea. In this design keyboard and mouse would be easily hidden, just flip the "hatch" and all pc equipment is gone ;D

Sorry for the long break (I got 3600 technic lego pieces as a christmas present ;D)

Today I bought plywood for the computer desk. Desk won't have motorized tft lift yet, it is still optional to do later. After the desk I need to do the bedroom and then return to tft lift design.

As a bonus pic my custom lego technic x-wing ;D It has around 3600 parts but I still ran out of them so it's missing landing gears.

Aren't you very close to that TV?
    Otherwise, wow.
Do you do the Metalwork yourself?
Seeing the shoe-storage, i suppose there's some cutting and welding involved

Oh, and a metal grate is very uncomfortable as a desk surface in the long run (had to use one at work for a couple of years)
Also very inconvenient for writing/drawing, handling small parts and mousing :D

Watching distance to tv is 200cm and it's a 52" screen. I feel I could watch it from a closer distance with 1080p material, I quess this is personal preference when the screen looks right size. Shoe shelf metal parts are ready made Ikea shelves. They are supposed to be normal horizontal shelves but I thought they would be cool hatches. I'm doing the computer desk out of normal birch plywood so no worries about the usability.

I'll try to get new photos tomorrow.

Are you going to treat the desk with anything or just leave it raw?

    Place looks rather pimp.
