    Hi there modders :)

I have one very small and simple question for you guru's; :dremel:
Is it possible to make a shuttle-like PC, in a casing with the
    following measurements?

    9.8 x 7.7 x 7.7 (size in inches, hight, width, lenght)

The hight of the casing that i have (a Powermac G4 Cube-casing, acryllic)
is transparant from the bottom up for ±2 inches.

So if I'm going to build a mini-PC into that casing, the actual
    usable hight would become ±7,8 x 7,7 x 7,7 inches.

    Right now it's filled with a Mobo+processor+heatsink, a slimline DVD-reader, a 3.5" HD, and 3 RAM slots, and a small Geforce 2MX.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Well... the shuttle uses MicroATX form factor motherboards, which measure 9.6 inches by 9.6 inches, so you would have to mount it at an angle to the floor. Overall, it'd betight, but possible. Think Slimline CD drive and 1 hard drive.

Shuttles don't use MATX boards, they use shuttle size boards, which is smaller.

Via epia motherboard would fit nicely into that case. Ive also seen a pentium m motherboard put into that case since they also have a few that is mini itx standard.

Here is the actual project log with pics with someone putting a pentium m board into the g4 cube.

    That looks s-w-e-e-t!!

But I think that's way too hard for me to do right now
(my name is still; what's a dremmel", lol!)

And I wouldn't know where to get the motherboard from.

    And besides that, there are a few more issues;
    - What kind of (and where is it placed) psu does it have?
    - where can i get that motherboard and cpu?
    - those slimline DVD-burners are pricy as hell :D

But besides all that, i like all those connectors he installed!
    Extra USB 2xVGA... sweet :D

flabber you can only make the shuttles a tiny bit smaller than they are already unfortunatly. You will have to go mini-itx as above, or wait for nano-itx.

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=76264 this is my shuttle custom box and its not that much smaller than a shutle :)
