hey guys, since my seagate portable harddive doesnt work on my usb hub and its very inconvenient for me to plug it on the back of my computer, so I m thinking of making a dual (or triple if the hub give so low current) port usb cable for the portable harddive. the question is, do I just open up a usb cable and attach the +5v and ground wires from another cable to its +5v and ground wires, and leave the data wires untouched. could this work? coz i dont want to fry anything.. lol thanks in advance, and please excuse my messy English.
You can buy cables like that, far easier: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-USB-Cab...e-/190725107066?forcev4exp=true&forceRpt=true Does appear that the 2nd connector is just power & ground though, no data wires- makes sense.
yea i know, but then i have to go buy one or wait for shipping and i have many usb cables lying around, thou i can use them for once
