    hey guys,
since my seagate portable harddive doesnt work on my usb hub and its very inconvenient for me to plug it on the back of my computer, so I m thinking of making a dual (or triple if the hub give so low current) port usb cable for the portable harddive.

the question is, do I just open up a usb cable and attach the +5v and ground wires from another cable to its +5v and ground wires, and leave the data wires untouched. could this work? coz i dont want to fry anything.. lol

thanks in advance, and please excuse my messy English.
