Cyberybob... it can play DVDs with no problem because it has a DVD decoder onboard. However, the only thing it can't play is high quality Divx movies. Decoding the video requires a lot power. The EPIA M2 should fix this though... not sure when it comes out.
to kinda answer one of your original questions, I saw on techtv a some stuff for windows Xp, I believe its called virtual desktop, bascically It allows you to control everthing on a computer like you were there, only thing is Gotta have Xp on both comps, which isn't all that bad if you like XP. I'm also pretty sure its microsoft software bundled with Xp
I'm sure you're talking about "Remote Assistance" within XP?? Basically you can control or help another PC user via your internet connection.... I haven't used it myself, but I'm told it can be really useful?!
Remote desktop connection is slighly different from remote assistance. It allows you to connect to any xp computer that has the feature enabled providing you know the password. There is also a client program on the xp cd that allows you to connect to an xp computer from any windows based pc running win 95 and upwards.
