Ok first ignore my sig as its all wrong atm.

Right now I have the following

    Opty 146
SI-120 and a 120 Papst fan, silent type.
    A8N SLI Delux
    2xRaptor 36Gb
    1x120Gb Samsung HD
    Antec 370-BLK Case
    Antec Neo Power 480Watt
Gigabyte 6800GT (dont ask it was a bargin)

With the raptors in the machine I do have a second silent Papst running a little air over them, which is fine.

Now the cooler on the V/card is loud, coupled with the classic failing noisy chipset fan, its starting to drive me nuts.

I would like to try and quiet this down a little, however the video card seems to be hot to the the touch right now so i'm worried about frying it. Also I cant seem to fid readings for the V/card temps which i used to be able to with my 6600. Are there any 3rd party utilities out there that can read temps from my card?

Ok, ok im rambling what am I asking for....

I have an old koolance rig, specifically one of the PC-2 i think, the ones built into a chieftec case.

Would I be able to steal the pump/ res system out, and build a newer cooling system for my machine?

will a 1/4" system be ok for cooling my above rig?

Is it worth it or should i just start a fresh?

    Nims

Being as your not using SLI, a Swiftech MCX159 will fit on that chipset. And cool very well, without any noise.
Also, for the Video Card, just get the Zalman Cooler or Arctic Cooler. Both very good and quiet. :)

Why watercool, when your only after silence?

Well, how about a small bore setup on a BIX3 and 7v fans?
That would cool your cpu, chipset, video, and even HDD.
And it would be next to silent.

Or get a Zalman chipset HS and an Arctic Cooler.
Either way, but air would be cheaper.

Edit: You probably could recycle the Koolance setup.
You'd need new blocks but it should work with the existing Rad, res/pump.

As above, you can recycle the w/c gear, but a new GPU cooler would also quieten it down.
(but hey, w/c is more fun so that's what I'd go for :))
