Is there such a thing as a male housing for a FDD power cord, like to make a y-adaptor that would plug into the single one usually provided? I could always get the pcb-mount and solder the wires then shrinkwrap it, but having a crimp connector would be sooo much easier! I can't seem to find one at the usual places.

FDD and IDE connectors are commonly called Speedblocks. Can't find em on the maplin web. I've seen them in the catalogue.

If I can find my catalogue and then find em, i'll post the product code.

Maplin do the female plug but not the male. Do a search for 4-pin and you'll see it as well as the standar molex connectors

Ok gotta correct myself power not called speed blocks, confused with data ribbons.

Ok, you wont find an in-line female connector. Should be able to get a smaller version of YW11M pcb header the pins on this one are too big. Or maybe use pin strip JW59P.

They're unsocketed so the bare pins would be hanging around waiting to short out!

    Closer...

Just found this site with "Power Splitter C" :
    http://www.baber.com/baber/products/power_supply_connectors.htm

Looks like they have just used a JS-1116-04W, soldered on the wires and shrink tubed it. I guess my next step is to find out where I can order a few headers here in the US without buying a case!
