The max you can charge on the App store is 999.99 hence why that's what it was priced at, also as Bauul says the app was very well described in the download section. Anyone who clicked 'Buy' knew exactly what they were getting...

Would it be too much of a conspiracy theory to think that maybe this is all just a fake publicity stunt done by apple?
Or maybe the conspiracy was executed without job's knowledge, but organized by someone that has a large amount of stock in apple? or just a PC hater perhaps?

Could it really be as simple as just some gullible rich kid?

exactly and if you are poor yet looking at a 999$ product you better spend some time reading the product description.

    Apple doesn't. Read the thread.

I don't get you guys. Apple is crap. Microsoft is crap. What's left? Well, Linux is wonderful, at least. But wait: you all have iPod clones and all your PC's are running Windows! :hehe:

I think the developer is a genius. He's exploited everything we all hate about Apple fans and made a hell of a profit from it. Hasn't lied, hasn't scammed, just played to peoples stupidity. I'm surprised Apple hasn't hired him

Yeah, that's true. But at the end of the day, you know that they're hoping they'd get a couple idiots to hit the button. And the developer did. Let's say that I've used "a fool and his money are soon parted" to my own personal gain in the past, and so did this guy.

I think there'd be a *lot* more applications like this if it wasn't for the $100 to join the iPhone development scheme, partly I think that fee is to deter people who want to make pointless rubbish like this.

what about millionaires who don't care about 1000$ and just wanted to show off that they are rich??

if i was a millionaire... i would buy that application just to show off that i was rich...... of course $1000 would be pocket change...

Don't you have some sort of "cooling off" period with online purchases?
Also, having one click purchasing is ****ing mental and should not be allowed :duh:

When you have a million dollars, $1000 still means something, it's not pocket change, and you do care about it enough to want to see something for your 1K.

You would spend $1000 on something trivial like jewelery, but not everyday, not even every week, or you wouldn't be a millionaire for long. Having a million dollars doesn't mean you can live like Donald Trump, giving waiters $10k for a tip and things like that, the guy is a billionaire!
