A man has died after being attacked by a gang while he was treated in the back of an ambulance. The victim had been injured during a fight involving about 20 youths armed with baseball bats and a knife in Bounds Green Road, north London. He suffered a head injury and was in the back of the ambulance when several youths climbed in and assaulted him and one of the ambulance crew on Tuesday. Three men were arrested and are being questioned by officers. The ambulance worker did not suffer serious injuries and was able to treat the victim and call the police. The victim, believed to be aged 26, was taken to hospital, where police said he died at 2230 GMT on Wednesday. Scotland Yard said it is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 2100 GMT. That's the full story but here's the link anyway. what is going on recently - lots of people have got beaten up in edinburhg too reently - one of the guys in my flats got wasted by some ******s - did all sorts of damage, and i have heard other stories too. judge dread style policinbg wouldnt be uncalled for, but maybe they do it like in them middle eastern countries (or some) where they cut off fingers for your first offence (whatever it may be).
The punishment is to have the right hand cut off, and that was for stealing. However, while most Sharia courts still hand out corporal punishments, they aren't as harsh or as random as people think. Public lashings are far more common then apmutations, and they are only used in rare or unsual cases. A jail sentance is the usual and prefered method. But, trust me, the jails here are no picnic. The true difference is the social stigma. All of your actions here reflect on your family, and have a direct impact on everything from getting a job to getting married. The social pressure to conform is incredible here. To curb speeding in young men, they started publishing thier names in the paper. It stopped virtualy overnight.
What I think is most worrying is that in some places they won't pay for bullet/stab proof vests for paramedics. They provide them for the police though. I would think it's just as dangerous being a paramedic as you could be going to treat someone while there are people stabbing and shooting people. Police are more likely to stay away and call for backup. Also paramedics only come in 2's normally so they don't have any backup of their own.

The worlds needs a large isolated island.... anyone committing a violent crime gets dumped on it, never to return. Let these people create their own society and leave us out of it. There was a movie based on that idea.. can't remember the name, but I really like the idea.
