Once, some wise-arse cinema employee confiscated my entire can of pringles! He then doubled the offense by not returning them to me at the end of the flick! I was sad and hungry the entire movie... which ended up being the LOTR:two towers.... :sadcryingfaceofdispare:
i would respond: "you take that can of pringles and you loose a customer for life.... how is it going to be? *he takes the can* "i will be talking to your superiors soon" "
Crikey at all the prices you guys are quoting, here in edinburgh I get my (student snapfax ) ticket for £3.30
And you didn't do anything? I would of made a big show infront of everyone, and I garantuee he would give them back.
point is, its their property, they can set up the rules as they want, sure it sucks if they forbid you to bring your own stuff. anyway, i prefer buying dvd's over going to the cinema anyway.
I went last night and a couple of guys next to me had cans of beer. Didn't bother me at all, they were very quiet about the whole thing.
cinemas in the UK are rediculous its cheaper to buy a DVD than for me and my GF to go watch a movie then you factor in the sweets your easily talking £25 once a month for three years = £900 you can get a decent 50" screen for that screw the cinema.
Now THAT i would love to do! They have gold class around here, the recliners are ok but the food is stuff you have to use a knife and fork for like veal scallopine, caesar salad, etc so you have to look at your food instead of looking at the movie - pizza would be excellent!!! I've definitely gotta smuggle in pizza next time
at my local cinima it's £4.25 ish for student tickets and you get your parking for free at the local multistory. Also you get £1 off your next visit things so quite often its £3.25 no one cares about bringing your own food in, although they did when it first opened. This is probobly because they don't get big audiances because they still charge far more than the old cinima used to and won't let anyone see any film irispective of age rating like the old cinima used to. You see I live in a very poor area of the country and therfore people are far more realistic than to mindlessly persue some corporate policy.
My local cinema tickets cost around £5+ but they give you a dicount next time, some people actually dont mind bringing your own food in depends on who it is. Prices for food their are plain old stupid last time i went their (i think it was either Rush hour 3 or Transformors) Thats why if you go in a group one person brings a bag sometimes and well your sorted since their to lazy to check most of the time. btw how the hell did you manage to take in a pizza? you just walked right in with a box in your hands
There used to be a cafe cinema I would go to locally. It . Nothing like being able to order a hot chicken sandwich on kaiser while watchin' a bad sci-fi flick, along with a beer.
That cafe cinema sounds awesome My plan to smuggle in the pizza is to bring a medium plastic container from home, just big enough to fit a pizza by layering the pieces like a jigsaw, maybe three layers of 2-3 slices, if you know what i mean. 1) Check the movie times online so you know when to start 2) I then order a nice pizza from my local pizza store, get ready to go and by the time i'm ready and at the local pizza shop my pizza is ready 3) I'm at the cinemas now, the pizza has cooled down a bit which is good so i don't make the whole cinema smell of pizza = busted 4) take apart the pizza and arrange it in the compact container, throw the container in your woman's bag - she needs to bring one of those big bags as shown below for all this to work!!! 5) Want some beer? No probs - the beer was in the fridge at home overnight and you already poured them into a couple of drink bottles before you left - they are already in the big bag of goodies 6) Go in, buy your tickets and buy some popcorn & a coke with two straws - this is the an essential part of the plan, cos if you go in with nothing but the big bag you look very sus, it's obvious - you can have the beer while she has the coke, or both can share both drinks throughout the movie. You can both share the popcorn aswell. 7) Walk in, while getting started on the popcorn, eat slowly, talk about something, don't look at the ticket ripper guy just give him a nod when you get there, just look at each other and where you are going. This guide is for two people or more btw, and brought to you by the letters C & K and the number 69
Cinema is another one of those dieing breeds! Could still be a while but as peoples home entertainment systems get better and dvd release times get shorter, where is Cinema left? My mum got stopped for trying to bring a bottle of water in (she was not happy about that). Seeing as bottled water is already a great con, paying cinema prices is just insanity (My dad later complained and got some free tickets to see another film!. I go to the cinema less and less, some films are great with the atmosphere specially comical ones, just there are too many people (mainly young) who are out to ruin it because they cant SIT STILL and WATCH a screen for more than 5 minutes let alone 2 hours. (Oh and BE QUIET) Im a student in london at the moment and the cheapest I can get tickets is £8.50ish where student discount is accepted! The one thing that always annoyed me about cinemas is the annoying person infront who is always so tall you can't seen infront of you and spend your time looking through a gap between two peoples heads! (though I spose I was quite young when that most frequently happened to me..)
I always bring confectionery delights into the theatre, my jacket would be making the unmistakable sound of hard candies hitting one another, but i don't think they care here.
Pretty much why I only go to the cinema in the daytime. Especially on a Wednesday. £2 each, opposite Tesco and very disinterested staff? Yes please.
I've found that the best time to go to the cinema is the first showing on a Sunday. A couple of friends & I tried this with HP4 (I think), on the first Sunday after it was released. Besides the 3 of us, there were about 4 other people watching (Star City, Birmingham). No screaming kids, no crunching of popcorn. Best cinema experience EVER! Re: Food - My local cinema (Vue, Ellesmere Port) has 6 eating houses within 100 feet of the front door. Have your meal BEFORE the movie!
