Man mistakenly kills himself with pipe-bomb in mouth

    Wow - Northamptonshire gets it's own Darwin Award Candidate:

    A 20-year-old man described as having a fascination with explosives blew himself up after putting a home-made pipe bomb in his mouth, an inquest has heard.

    Kevin Barnes stuffed a four-inch length of copper piping with gunpowder from a firework and appeared to relish showing it to visitors to his flat in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

    He called it his birthday candle and told people he was going to set it off in the park just to see what happened, the hearing in Northampton was told.

    yeah i heard of a guy that stuck a big a**ed firecracker in his mouth, and spit it out just before it blew up, the next time, he didn't spit it out in time... ouch...:eeek:
