    True but the c2d wasnt as stable when overclocking as modern sandybridge and onwards are. I had loads of different c2ds and depending on your target clock it was sometimes better disabled.

    If your not overclocking it though its very useful.

    Honestly speedstep never really gave me issues in terms of overclocking. But then again I used one of the best P45 boards with a really good E8400. I hit 4.4Ghz on a speed run. (owing to a pathetic cooler I had to dial down to 3.87Ghz, which was still amazing).

    Turned off for the 3.4Ghz I could get 3.2 stable with it on. But it was in a case with good airflow on a P35 chip set.
