Just found this thing: http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=03051007091095&moduleno=24634&modulecode= Any good for reservoir to house a submergible Ehiem compact 1000?
Doesnt appear to be anodized....Will most likely have problems with battery effect *mixing copper and alu* down the road...Maybe try to get a plastic box instead?
This http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=030511075402208&moduleno=25154&modulecode= A better choice? Clear top too.
Nice finds there wywywywy May I ask why you chose maplins and not farnell? Its just farnell have free delivery....but then you maybe near a Maplins store. I like the clear top idea. However plastic isn't as impact resistant (likely to shatter), and would be easier to thread aluminium I would think. Also, the battery effect is going to happen unless your keeping a pure system, and I would use corrosion inhibitors anyway due to some of the corrosion I've seen going on over at Procooling! Simply scary!
Because I have a hard time actually finding things on farnell website! And they won't send me a paper catalogue. They promised to send me a pdf catalogue (so that I can use some University resources to print it out), but they still haven't... been 2 weeks now.
They sent me one and it arrived pretty quick, ask em again I suspect they just got the address wrong or something
If I get a chance this evening, I'll look around for something similar in my PDF Copy of the Farnell Catalouge
I'm just thinking... Why not use a small plastic aquarium as reservoir? Many of them already have hose barbs on top already too! And 99% of them are all clear transparent.
OK so far this is the only thing which I could find which matches the same description as the box above: http://uk1.farnell.com/Search/level_5.jhtml?PRODID=17444&SKUID=15429 Its sealed and with a transparent lid. They also have alu dicast ones, which I can post if you want. They would protect against RFI/EMI
I just spent two hours on farnell (okay.. and maplin too) trying to find things I want. But I still can't find anything useful yet. So, please post the alu one as well! (Ready to order now) EDIT: Hi... umm... it doesn't say waterproof, does it?
I cant ever find anything at those stupid sites *malpins and farnell*....Their search engines need some major overhaules or something...
