After an increasing number of "cold cathode" threads appearing, I thought it would be a good idea to put them in a sticky at the top of the forum for everyones reference :)

    Update:

As of the 11th of november Maplin will be stocking the new Cathodes replacing the bare cathode range. Article code RP33 through to RP38 will still be permanently discontinued with only the dreggs of what left in the company available in the stores (good if you don't want blue). RP39 (Inverter) will still be available to buy and is not discontinued. The New codes are as follows:

    N50AN Blue
    N50AN Black
    N50AN Green
    N50AN Pink
    N50AN White

these are sold as kits (one cathode and one inverter) and will be £12.99 each. The good news is that they are blister packed properly and will be available for online purchase.

This is the Official info from Mappers head office and supercedes any other information I have given in the past.

It seems that http://www.cpc.co.uk/ are selling the cathodes at 3.96 plus vat but all orders attract a £4.99 handling fee, if you are buying a lot though, this could be a cheaper alternative.

Hope this helps a bit :D
