Guys, I've just got hold of a pc26 maplin project box and am looking for ideas. I read with great interest Mr Stuarts thread and what he did - well done BTW. Anyway, pls post your links to any similar projects using same/similar materials here. Comments/advice are of course welcome too. I'd like this thread to be a research pool for me and many others who wish to do the same mod. Thanks,
cut a hole in the top of the case and mount a window... then use CCFL's in at either side. looks ubercool
as far as motherboards are concerned, the Asus Socket A boards with the onboard GeForce 2 videon (NForce) chipsets work well... or if you want a HTPC, a shuttle board in the barebones series will have a decent motherboard with s-video & composite video out... regular sized hard drives will fit (two if you're lucky) and you'll have to go for a shuttle or 1u PSU... other than that its still just a pc in a small case.... check out http://mini-itx.com for a lot of links on how to shove full pcs into really small containers (read PS1 & PS2) I've got one of these waiting to be made sitting under my bed (Shuttle Fv25, Intel Pentium III 1.2GHz Tualatin, 512MB PC133 SDRAM (2x256MB DIMM), Shuttle PSU, a WD 2000JB-SE, some vandal resistant switches, a pair of Quad LED fans, and a MO LK402-12 LCD.... haven't gotten around to putting it together yet... haven't had the time...
