Wouldn't it be cool if Maplins stocked all the things the modding community needed at their really good value prices.

    For example:
    Cold Cathodes
    - PC Mod specialist £15 - £25+ (inc Inverter)
    - Maplins £8 (inc Inverter)

    Cooler Master Heat Pipe
    - PC Mod Specialist £35 - £39
    - Maplins £20

    If only Maplins did...

    - LED modded fans @ £8
    - Clear Fans @ £7
    - Window kits @ £10
    - Artic Silver @ £3
    - Whole water cooling systems @ £70

    :D

Hey Fly, do Maplins know that they have an eager market for this kind of stuff?

Mmm. Good point, but Maplins don't reply soley on these things. They sell lost of other things too. It'll be another segment of the market that they will appeal to.

No it cos the costs would be too high for them to make it worth it

    Its all about oppourtunity cost

exactly. Every square metre of their floor costs them a sum that would probably stagger you. If they can sell enough widgets to make it break even, then its a no-brainer to stock the line. But they still pay the light bill, heat bill, employees, benefits, insurance, taxes, etc. etc. even if nobody buys the widgets.

Also, to supplement what linear said (and right he is too), the oppourtunity cost means that the money they would have to invest in that could be being investeed in something else which may make more money.
