To make a little media machine to sit below the tele and work as a TV/ recorder.

    Definitely Need:
    A case
    The TV card plus software
    Cooling
Itx mobo (that accommodates laptop memory instead of full fat)

    Have:
    Hard drive
    Intel I3 2120t @ 2.6ghz
    4gb laptop memory (x1 4gb)
    4gb laptop memory (x2 2gb)

    Fujitsu Laptop with
    Intel pentium p6200 @ 2.13ghz
    4gb ram
500gb hd plus all the standard crap
    Windows Home Premium with bloatware

Suggestions would be appreciated... Wondering whether it'll be better to offload the useable tech in here then buy stuff or build with what I've got...

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

I believe there is a variation of mini-ITX called thin-ITX (though it is Intel only) which takes laptop RAM. I almost did this when I built a file server recently, but it was cheaper to buy a new stick and AM1 mobo than a thin motherboard and save the RAM.
