This is long, so I’m going to apologize in advance.

OK, so I'm going about as normal, doing my normal thing, and one day (completely at random, without any warning, and without me installing anything at all, or changing anything at all) ATI's TV program starts going through the initialization wizard EVERY time I open the program. Somewhat annoying, but I lived.

Fast forward to today, and everything just goes tits up. Again: NOTHING NEW ON SYSTEM AT ALL, PERIOD. What was happening was that I would open the program, close it (manually, once watching has finished), then when I try to open it again (doesn't matter if it's immediately, ten minutes later, ten hours later, after multiple reboots, ect) it does the same initialization wizard, but once the program has opened, my AIW with TV in now is in-fact just a coax in, with absolutely no options at all.

In short, it is not seeing my input correctly. It doesn't even do the coax input properly (it'll stick to channel 4, mute the sound, and make the entire picture very fuzzy)

But after uninstalling the entire software suite (ATI Multimedia Center), using DC3, and reinstalling it, I get "ATIMMC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error the instant that the program is opened. There is absolutely no delay.

So I tried updating my video drivers. Same exact problem. Tried older drivers (three different older drivers to be exact). Same exact problem. Tried system restore. And can you guess what? Exact same problem! See a trend?

The thing that really confuses me is that the program will work perfectly fine, even though it has "errored".

Right now, using the latest drivers, the program will open, error, still be usable, I can even close it normally, but if I hit either button on the error window, it will cause the program to fail to initialize when I try to open it again. It will literally say it cannot initialize my WDM drivers.

Now, I have also tried multiple versions of MMC. The only one that I have this problem with is version 8.5, but unfortunately ALL MMC's newer than 8.5 screw with the decoder too much to cause about 5 seconds of lag between the source and the output. With 8.5 the tuner is actually faster than the tuner in my TV. I use my xbox with the input on my AIW. I'm sure you can see the problem. I need to run 8.5.

    My brain is stumped. Help!
