    Hello Everyone.
I am new at the mod scene.

[What Am I Trying To Do?]
I'm trying to make a case for my new-old computer.

I just want to know about the materials used to make cases.
I am looking for CHEAP, easy to handle, easily altered, and readily available.

Please give me some explanation because I am new at this and I don't
    wanna screw up :)

yup, it all depends on what you want to do. There are totally custom cases, generally made with plexi, acryllic, or aliuminum. Then theres steel, plastics, non-contemporary styles, etc.

So are you just modding, or building from the ground up?

if your wanting to mod cheap, go for a cheapO case like a £20 one. and mod form there, windows, fan holes, lighting and so on.

So yeah, just pic something and start with that. I did that with my current project, was just staring at my case and though "gee that would look great with this-and-this-and-this-and-that" So I broke it apart and started going nuts. I've learned a lot just from doing this, and it's given me a big interest in Eletrical Engineering.

i would simply get a old cheap case, thats the best route if your entirely new to modding and building/making stuff. but if youve worked with metal before, get a cheapo case, and if youve worked with wood before, make a wooden case and paint it so it looks like metal. thats probably your best bet.

I haven't really "worked" with anything but I wanna start from ground up,
because small cases for some awkward reason seems to cost more than the bigger
    cases.

I would like to build a case from ground up,
I was thinking of wood or acrylic

I'm not looking for anything fancy like windows, ligths and what not.
I don't necessarily need it to look good, but I would prefer it to be eye candy.
That is why I am trying to build ground up.

Meaning from scratch? If so i would say not many things fit those qualities unless maybe a wooden case. The easiest and most readily available i would think to be aluminum and easily altered in a sense if you have the right tools. Or are you just looking for something cheap to mod?
