Designtechnica take a look at the latest multi-monitor workhorse GFX card from Matrox:

"All in all this is a very awesome card. Anyone who needs a multi-monitor or editing solution would do well to pick this one up. Designed for speed and streamlined for the intermediate workstation, the Matrox Millenium P750 has so much flexibility in it, that it will be our card of choice for the office here for some time to come.

    Hardcore gamers need not apply!

We would have liked to have seen a more inclusive software bundle. Probably not a game title, but some thing along the lines of what the card is designed for. Photo or video editing software would have been nice as well as some of the other software that is downloadable to be included on the disk and automatically installed if needed. As it is you have to register on the Matrox site to download these specialty items. "

So, as you're all hardcore gamers, no-one will be clicking here for the full review.... ;)

G550 same here... is good enough for most of the stuff I do

Most of matrox's new stuff is just too expensive for normal people to justify untill a newer version comes out and the price drops.

I've had many a gfx card in my time. Got my first Matrox and i've been hooked since, i started on a 450 and am now running a 128mb Parhelia, games run smoothly and at high resolutions in fact the extra features the card supports make games look great.

The multi monitor thing is very useful also, you can program in one window and see your finished product in the other. For image editing you can have all your image editing fly outs and tools on one, the image your working on on the main monitor and a zoomed image of the main image following your cursor in another; you can even have winamp and msn on one screen whilst gaming in another.

    Matrox
