Gone back to using 1 system & needed a new case, considered buying 1 but decided to make 1.

    It's a spacious HTPC/gaming mATX rig.

    Measures 272W, 346D, 566H.

Supports a 280mm AIO water cooler in top, 2 140mm system fans, 2 120mm storage fans, covered long PSU, 306mm GPU length, 190mm CPU cooler height, 5 HDD 1 SSD, mass of cable management space for what should be a clean looking build, pretty basic but quality case.

    Design.

Grommet & mount point added, this is the PSU cover, mounts by 1 screw to a modding cube for quick full PSU access.

Making the 10mm acrylic IO piece & 1mm piece.

You waffling is half the fun. We can sometimes convince you to build something more elaborate.

That said: *AHEM* Why are you still making a cube if you are rocking a bending brake? 90 degrees is sooo yesterday.:naughty:

    :D

I'll only give a detailed explanation if asked about certain bits otherwise I'll try to keep the written bit simple.

Square to me is most compatible, pc components are square & rectangular, it's also more compatible with my basic tools. :)

I did consider doing the internal like how I've done for a good core system treating it as 1 big component & making a jacket (another case) for it for wow factor but it would be needless, make maintenance more difficult & be opinion splitting, people would either like it or barf it so not worth the extended effort.

I'm happy with basic & square, also means less time spent on making it which prevents me getting attached to the creation so feelings won't be bruised if people say it's crap if it's made in a week or 2. :hehe:

I kinda doubt I'll ever go the unnecessary extra miles on a project again, no incentive to.

Today's update is I'm still waiting for materials.

    Cool start, man - I'll be watching:D
You know, when I look at those photos I think that it's so easy for you to design and go from sketches to actual cutting alu pieces. Pure envy:D
I spend like 1000s of hours only thinking about my project stages before I actually make a move:duh:

Ahh you remind me why it sucks to post projects in progress, I'll hold off posting anymore updates until it's complete & then post the lot in 1 day.

Thanks, yeah I've got speedier at designing & making printer ready templates, already printed the revised grill design.
But the thing with really taking your time on the design stage is you tend to make classics like you do, once I've got this one done I could take my time on designs again.

No, :D but I'm comfortable working up to 2mm aluminium, 3mm & above gets slow & boring to work.

Something that took me a long time to realise, definitely more enjoyable keeping the workload light as well.

That's certainly true anything above that is hard work by hand, That's why I like my CNC I've cut 25mm on that :D I'm doing a couple of clown heads from 6mm atm the face features will be cut in at 2mm deep pockets they're for my garden rifle range lol

I keep thinking of redoing my art deco radio HTPC case I did but in brass and aluminium.

Why didn't you say so sooner. Now I feel like a bully.

"Jibadib" is how it's pronounced by the really dumb ones. -The ones they give a suicide bomb to, but use a remote detonator. You have to admit that these terrorists know how to deal with unwanted staff.
-If you want to tell an offensive joke, it's better to combine two demographics and really go for the kill.

    Anyway, love your I/O plates.
