It's out! Anyone installed it yet? Any impressions?

I'm downloading it right now, gonna give it a try on my laptop. :thumb:

I'm getting there, slowly. This connection isn't great at handling massive updates like this... should be done in a few hours.

I have been playing with the RC on my second machine for the past few days. The boot time in outrageously fast. A few times it looks like the graphics have crashes as I get a messed up screen during boot but 2 seconds later its at a fully useable desktop.

Everything worked right out of the box, though the wireless card I have in that machine is getting a very very poor signal, I don't remember it ever being that bad. Might be the position of the machine and not Ubuntu though. Everything is snappy and responsive but I can't help but wish I was using something a bit more "linux-y" when playing with Ubuntu.

I still don't like the buttons on the left hand side, it feels too cluttered over there.

I can't get it to install, it just bugs out on the installer :S

10.04 works perfectly but when I get to the partitioner in 10.10 the box just fills immediately with scrolling 2's then eventually locks up.

My 10.04 install upgraded to 10.10 successfully... then yesterday it killed itself with an update. I spent an hour or so trying to figure out how to fix it (seems to be a graphical issue, surprise surprise) then gave up and did a fresh install of 10.04. I went for the Netbook Edition this time around, as I only use my laptop for browsing and writing.

I've got an ISO of 10.10 but can't find any blank CDs or a big enough flash disk so it'll likely be a few months before I actually get around to trying it again.

From the few hours I did spend in 10.10 it's basically 10.04 with a few minor changes to things I don't tend to use very often. Boot time was about the same. The jump from 9.10 to 10.04 was much bigger. Nice wallpapers with 10.10 though.

The partitioner isn't quite working, I'll wait a few weeks for bugfixes..

    Disappointed :(

My netbook updated to it no problem. I installed unity on it, and i must say its quite nice. it still needs a few tweaks - its very slow in places, and scrolling the side dock up and down is slooooooow, but the increase in screen space is very nice. oh - and it captures the <super>+space command before it gets to Do, so i've had to re-assign Do to <control>+space. still havnt got used to that :/

As I tend to leave my netbook in standby i havnt really noticed the boot times... i'll have to pay some attention next time :)
