Windows Max Payne: Worth my £30?

Max Payne, Max easy

max payne is a good game but the smooth effects and graphics soon get boring and you realise its just a gymic. It is a good game with a quite good story line, no where near to halflife though. you can get it for about £25 now, so yeah it probably is worth it. If not wait for some of the new games coming out like return to castle wolfenstien or medal of honour. If you like or just see what santa brings.
PS Max payne is too easy and having to complete it before you can play on the hardest setting is boring as the game is just the same on the hard difficulty.

 

It makes you jump so much this game...

It's one of the few games with atmosphere. And AvP1 was excellent multiplayer, not played 2 online but it should be amazing, chasing newbie aliens on the roof upside down Buahahahahaha!

Ahem, I like this game.

 

Id like to see a game with the variation and storyline of AVP2, running on the Max Payne game engine! (MAXFX) - Now that would be cool!

 

unreal 2 engine

personaly i would use th unreal 2 engine as if is anything like the first then i will mean the game will b avialable to a larger scope o people as it looks good even in sotware mode and you wont need a hard cor pc just to get a good frame rate and good graphics as with max payne.

 

I got a copy of max payne from a friend and I played it for about a few hours and got bored of it, I like how max payne talks in the game and what he has to say, he is a real smart ass. Hehe but anyways... its okay for a while

 

hmm my 2 cents :

Max Payne = Great fun for about 30 mins with all the bullet time + effects

AvP2 Demo = Doesn't do justice to the full game it is crap compared to the full game

AvP2 = Great fun + 3 different viewpoints to play the game thru

RTCW = Buy dis instead

 

id say pass on max payne, its almost impossible to beat without cheats and gets pretty disturbing at times (devil worshipping and stuff) the bullet time also gets pretty tedious after a while

I like it but, like many of you said, it got a bit tedious.
I bought Deus Ex for a tenner! Now THAT'S a game

Is a challenging job
It takes alot of time
To think of a good rhyme

If you want to spice up max payne, get the ultimate mod v7 from here: http://www.maxpaynecenter.com/downloads/mods.phtml?id=110181&language=en this adds lots of extra weapons and cool effects. Also go here: http://www.maxpaynecenter.com/downloads/mods.phtml?id=118667&language=en to get the kung fu mod, which makes max behave a lot like neo on the matrix (bullet dodging, running off walls etc). Both make max a lil more endearing

Max Payne - fun till you finsih it - Mods make for some serious fun - however I would again suggest AvP2 as a more lasting game...
