http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...ush-max-payne-3-to-its-limits-on-high-end-pcs "You'll find that screen resolution is scalable, there's triple and even sextuple monitor support which helps to run higher screen resolutions, there's various anti-aliasing options, scalable water quality, scalable shadow quality, increased detail for characters and vehicles and a scalable texture filter that further increases visual quality. "We're also supporting DX11 with Max Payne 3, with features including Hull/Tessellation/Domain Shaders (which adds curvature to the character/vehicle models), Gather4 (for optimized shadow sampling / FXAA), Geometry shader / Stream Output and DX11 texture samplers to name a few." Hoare went on to explain why the game's install size comes in at a hefty 35GB.
Looks good. I already played through a friend's console version but I'd be curious to see how this one looks on the PC. If anyone has it post some screenshots and impressions!
Yes! Mine is coming down right now! I left the girl in my bed when I went to work, but the computers on frantically downloading Max Payne so things are going to get toasty in there. I told you Bindi, its all those humongous textures!
I was playing it last night. Truth be told I'm very impressed, it looks gorgeous all scaled up. Very blocky without AA, but even just x2 makes a huge difference. Plays remarkably smoothly on my mid-range rig with most settings on high or very high. In terms of the success of the technical port of the game, I give Rockstar a hearty thumbs up. No stereoscopic 3d compatibility. Don't really like playing games without 3d glasses these days... hard to get used to everything looking flat. Depth adds so much realism.
That's nice and all, but you can only have up to 3 weapons at a time, and you will drop your rifle whenever a cutscene makes you climb a ladder or anything of that sort.
Just finished the SP and really enjoyed it. Has to be one of the best single player games i have played even if it was a bit too linear at times. The multiplayer on the other hand is a complete mess. It feels like it was thrown together right at the end of development and i don't think i'll get more than a couple of hours out of it. The main problem is how poor the maps are imo; You basically spawn on top of enemies and can barely get to cover before you are killed sometimes.
Oh yes. It has the effect of pulling you into the game world. You feel you're there and you forget you're sitting in a room playing a game. It's much greater than the immersion you get playing on a flat screen. If you press the magic pyramid button on 3d vision 2 IR box it enables/disables the 3d. Switching to 2d in game really takes you out of the game world and dumps you back in the room and you're staring at a flat, cartoony image. Into racing games? A whole new level of realism with Raco 07 or F1 2011 in stereoscopic 3d. Don't even get me started on 3d movies and HD 3d porn. Best PC peripheral I bought this year. I've only played the first 20 mins but I will play through some more. I never played the previous max paynes so I have no clue how it compares to them.
Just completed single player. The gunplay is excellent fun, and the animations are just amazing. Story and setting are decent, but not as good as 1&2.
