hey all. In the "Rig of the Month" section of the Sept 04 issue of Maximum PC (DM 2004 issue), they feature a mod called "St. Anger" by some dude named Jason Catanzaro. Pics show a pretty coolz watercooling setup and they mention a pair of thermoelectric coolers. I been looking all over teh net for a worklog or pix of the innards, or something that explains the cooling system of this box, but I cant find anything anywheres. If anyone knows where I could find more info on St. Anger, could they plz tell me where? Thanx for teh help.
If you want info on thermoelectric coolers then just google or the forums for "TEC" and you'll have information coming out of your ears.
these coolers are essentially 'Peltier' coolers. If you want information on computer cooling products search TEC. If you want scientific information on the subject, looking more towards learning how and why it works, search for Peltier. here I am so helpful, i do all the work for you: http://www.google.com/search?q=Peltier
Sorry for double post Here are some useful pages, on the TEC cooling, not that case: http://www.heatsink-guide.com/peltier.htm http://www.overclockers.com/tips45/ http://www.digit-life.com/articles/peltiercoolers/ and now i set you free into the ocean of knowledge that is the internet
not seen the article, but the name would suggest a metallica theme... is this the case (dodgy pun most definately not intended there)?
Yeah, it a Metallica themed mod. Pretty sweet too, tho I not a fan of Metallica myself. The reason I posted in the forums is because I've tried Google and Yahoo and other search engines. I've tried other modding sites like [H]ardOCP and ModtheBox. I'm finding a ton of stuff on peltier/thermoelectric cooling, but I not finding any cooling setup that resembles this case's. I cant find jack on Maximum PC's site, either. Here's some quotes from the article: "Sandwiched betwwen a copper plate at the top of the case and an Innovatek hard drive water block inside are two 80mm thermoelectric coolers, making the aluminum case one big, badass heatsink." And: "...an Innovatek reservoir and convection radiator. On/Off valves beneath the reservoir allow the cooling panel to be removed without having to drain the whole setup." I'd show images, but my scanner's not workin and i not sure how to anyways One of the pics shows the case's (lian-li PC60) convection radiator and res w/ the shutoff valves, which are all on the sidepanel behind the mobo tray. Onother pic shows a bighuge copper plate where a blowhole would typically be on the top of the case. But there's no pics of the insides. Thnx for the linx, btw.
