Thanks man!!! And with several other new reviews coming and LCDC it's only going to get better... BTW, there is a new LCD0821 manual... did you get yours working yet!?!?!
Yes and no......... I did, but not on my machine. It's my serial ports, thatey just won't send data to anything. I've tried differnet IRQs, installations and everything but still no luck. But at least it's working on my other machine, and looks awesome to boot! Thanks again Henry! By the way, that's a fantastic new manual, really comprehensive! Nice one!
Congratulations, you deserve the credit. Now all you need is to have a 50% discount for Bit Tech forum members!
Newbie question, but... I had a look at the MO website and at £83 ($119) for a VFD display excluding the p&p and the import tax, im curious as to why most say the MO displays are over £50 better than the farnell.com ones at £35 for a similar 20x2 layout.
All the MO displays are serial. If you check prices on those, they are pretty competitive, whether you look for straight serial or a parallel w/ a serial backpack. Plus they're very professionally done, and have great service. It's a little unfair to compare the price of a high-end VFD to a cheap LCD you have to wire yourself. Right now serial displays are way more versatile than anything you hook up to the LPT. Try checking out the LCD FAQ's here and on [H] if you're interested...good stuff.
