Probably a silly question but; I've installed 2x2GB Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600MHz (CML4GX3M2A1600C9) but this isn't listed in the 'Qualified Vendors List' in the board's User Guide - the closest is CMX4GX3M2A1600C9. Does this matter? I want to add another 4GB and want to know if it's worth my while to change what I have or if it's ok to continue using it and just add some more of the same. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium (and a Dark Rock Advanced cooler, hence the low profile RAM) Thanks!
That's fine! The difference is Vengeance vs standard XMS, but the main point is that the Vengeance is just as new so will use ICs that are supported. If you're using the Dark Rock, yes, you definitely need need low profile memory. One word of warning - if you are using XMP though, you might still need to increase VCCSA and VCCIO voltages on the CPU slightly. XMP does not adjust this - it only sets the memory to the rated speeds, but the CPU memory controller needs extra voltage in compensation.
