    From ExtremeTech:

Maxtor Corporation said it had begun shipping a 300-Gbyte parallel ATA drive to retailers.

The drive emphasizes capacity over performance, with a drive spindle that spins at 5,400 RPMs. The drive uses Maxtor's exclusive ATA-133 interface, which the company is holding onto as rivals begin to ship Serial ATA drives.

I suppose the "capacity over performance" statement explains why it's PATA and not SATA.

Half a Terrabyte on a single drive by the end of the year?
