Tekmonkey, congratz and well deserved! That's gonna be an interesting theme for May.

Congratulations on the win, TekMonkey! Good choice on the theme, too. Now that my camera is back from the shop, hopefully I can find time to get out and take some shots.

People have always been my weak point, so it will be fun to get out and challenge myself.

Now in this can we do portrature or what? Or are we a bohemian comp and letting our creative juices flow. Just curious. Slightly more specific theme than last year.

 

I'm not speaking for Tekmonkey, but themes are open to interpretation

 

It's open to your interpretation, but it would be nice if the shots are created specifically with the theme in mind at the time of taking the shot.
If you have a shot taken during the month that happens to fit the theme then fine, but I like the idea that POTM gets you out being creative.

Basically any picture with a person in it.

But a picture that focuses on a person/people would be best IMO.

Open to w/e though! Let the votes decide.

 

hopefully i can get in good with this one, i havent submitted anything in here yet and i dont work well with people, but hopefully i can get a good candid shot for submission.

 

Hey, I've been meaning to enter a POTM for a while, I got some shots from a set I did on 31/08/05, I was wondering if it would be allowed for me to enter?

I know there's a thing about it either being after the announcement of the theme, and RTT iirc said a year prior would be alright but as my shots are a bit older than one year I'd just like to ask...

not wanting to sound harsh but it completely defeats the point of the competition if everyone just scans through their archives finding a shot that fits the theme. the point is to get out with your camera trying to capture something deliberately.

 

True, only thing was that I gave myself this exact brief in '05... and was the only brief I actually did other than band and girl type sets...

Well I guess I best get my camera out at some point soon!!

 

Untill what date can we enter pictures?
I thought the deadline was the 25th of each month?

It was the 25th, but I believe the POTM site was down for a day.

 

So 26th?

Any news on the votes, I see a new theme is up on the POTM site, so I assume someone won ?
