As the title says, its around 760MB and is available on Xbox Live right now.
Having a play and even the g/f enjoys it which is a first!
Really liking this a whole stack more than Forza, though the cars are perhaps a little too snappy and the breaks a little too harsh but the buggys are awesome fun, I've never found a driving game so natural to control.

And graphically I prefer its art direction compared to Forza, it feels as if it's got more life to it.

Still, give it a go, it can't hurt :D

    ::edit::

Also available to download for PC today (didn't realise) and its 833MB
    http://www.gamershell.com/download_19282.shtml for download :D

Hopefully this doesn't disappoint like forza did, although to be honest I think its going to be PC for me so I can use the G25

    OMG!!

    its awesome!
The HDR effects and the graphics are sublime, sure the controls are little snappy but its so much jokes.

The one thing im impressed the most with is the menu system and the actual funky disco house tracks they are using. Also the FMV at the stsrt of the game is freeking awesome!.

I downloaded this for PC yesterday. On my rig at highest settings, in Vista, it starts to chug (i.e. 1680x1050 and absolutely everything at max settings). Taking it down a notch or two meant it was smooth as, but I couldn't figure out how to use my joypad (mind, it was about 1am :) ).

The graphics are astonishing! And as I say, taking the settings down only a notch or two means it flies along - and this is in Vista!

Graphics are ridiculously sexual. Handling is a bit twitchy, but otherwise it's superb. Highly enjoyable.

I like it. The AI is flipping cheap! They will take any oppurtunity to ram you off the road. I like the graphics and the gameplay. The voice in the menu is kind of annoying though. "hey, you're pretty good...for a demo. Lets see how you do in the FULL version!"

This feels like one superb game on the 360, first game I have on the 360 where I think yeah thats what its all about, only real gripe is I can't really feel any difference between the cars they all drive the same really, I would have expected the buggy to be sliding all over the place as they do when I've driven similar, ah well it is a demo perhaps it'll be tweaked but the driving has a very good feel to it regardless not stupidly arcadey like RR7 and the graphics top notch, feels and looks like it should for a high powered console game not like Forza 2 average attempt, DiRT is going to be fun.

Shame you can't use the G25 on Xbox, it'll have to be a PC/PS3 purchase for me just for the wheel.

The controls felt like crap when I tried it this morning. The oversteer and understeer feels completely fake.

After seeing a video of it, it looks pretty impressive, I'll try and download it later.

However, I very much doubt it will be as enjoyable as the first Colin McRae Rally game, that kicked ass.

The graphics are awesome, unfortunately I can't stand the handling, or that american guys voice.

Its far from a sim but I got the a decent feel from the game and it could be fun, out of interest which view do you use I find the car animations don't tie up to the controls as well as when just seeing the road, thats how I play most of these arcade racers I think it plays fairly well like that.

Normally the third or fourth view out (in front of car - inside car - behind car - above behind car), depending on what game. It makes it easier to see more of the track, and you also know where the back of your car is (which is useful incase you slide into a tree).

I've had a couple of plays on this, and aside from the twitchy handling (I'm assuming that's down to using a keyboard and going from 0-full throttle+steering, never a good thing for smooth driving) it's bloody awesome. The physics are great, the damage is brilliant, the AI's superb (they slow down to avoid an accident with you!) and the weathering/dirt effects are fantastic. Bit heavy on resources, but what do you expect from such beauty?

On another subject, that Logitech G25 looks awesome, what're they like to own? The gearchanger looks like the action could be a bit plasticy and clackety, is it smooth or a bit poo?

    It's Rally.. :)

Game looks awesome, although even on my machine, 1280x1024 + Everything on Ultra, the buggy level was lagging a wee bit. So had to turn it the resolution down, and actually, resolution didnt matter, looks the same..

I've just spent the past half an hour messing around on the mountain track. Man, it's freaking awesome when you go down the track in the wrong way and fly off of a cliff onto a lower part of the track. I kept putting it in the driver's view and flipping my car. So much fun. Next stop is to hit the dune buggy track and crash into the cars as they're comign at me.

I defiantly found the brakes and stearing quite harsh. It does exactly what you tell it to do, which your not quite expecting. I like it. :)
