OK, is this a site pimp or a request for a critique? Either way, it doesnt belong in GD I'll assume its a critique request for now, just because I'm in a good mood
"The server at jjstorm.afraid.org is taking too long to respond." Though I'm lucky it is that way because from the responses of other people, it would've screwed my already screwed eyes.
yes right now the site is down im not sure why but ill talk to my friend which does the hosting on his comp sorry he does hosting of his comp which means other problems can happen, his parents can turn comp off windows update power surge and lots more but im sure its not any of those because he's still on aim
The site itself is too bright, it definitely needs a colour change. But I'm impressed that at 13, you've setup a webserver and site - at 13 I was creating webpages in Microsoft Word!
I'm just going to talk about the index page, as I don't have time nor do I have the patience to list all of the site's faults. The first thing that stands out is the fact that you have the various sections, but they're all taking a tiny area of space next to each other on the screen, as a result I have *huge* areas of whitespace to the right and below the links. Why not make each of the sections stand out and be more easily instantly recognizable? I've done a slight prototype: Also, I highly recommend reading many of the articles @ http://alistapart.com/
they are not like that for me any one else having this problem? and we got a new template up so anyone who dident vote vote lol
Mary Jo's right, the links to each section are in a small portion of the page. It's as if there should be a lot more on the page, but there isn't.
Sup huge security risk. Might want to get that fixed. Edit: Just so you know, I used the file manager thingy to upload a PHP file which then read the contents of the directory. This could also delete pretty much anything on the computer and mess everything up. I'd advise on securing the file manager or getting rid of it completely.
I'd like to suggest that you do not run your site on Windows (probably WinXP you're using). Really, it's not designed at all for hosting, and as much as I love Windows it will probably get hacked (as demonstrated here). I recommend a linux distro (assuming that you're using a standalone server) like Gentoo. Might be hard to try at first (since you are 13) but it's pretty good.
Nononono, Mary Jo (The person who posted that image) is suggesting what the website should look like. At the moment its just not accessible.
