ok, call me stupid and all but how to do you power one of those meanwell switching power supplies? Like with what kind of wires/source
If yours has connectors like this one, connect mains to line, neutral and earth, take your output from + and -, set the switch to local mains, 110v or 230v, stand well back and switch on. Use a mains lead to suit the wattage, in the UK 5A 3-core would run most. If yours isn't like that, post the model number.
I have the MEAN WELL S-320-12, I know there are three lines to plug into but i'm so accustomed to using a AC adapter type cable I have never used one of these which leaves me to wonder where to get power from.
These psus are designed to go inside a case where fingers can't touch the high-voltage connectors. Then the supply wires go, via a switch, to a panel-mounted male mains connector, like on the back of a computer psu, or to a lead out of the case (through a grommet) to a mains plug and wall socket.
appreciate the help I know what a wall socket looks like ;p I meant a picture of the meanwell power supply hooked up to a wall socket.
