    Yes it will be fairly similar to classic with the key base colors flipped. Shades may differ but thats the basic idea.
    So like this

    Hooray! Meaningless internet points :D

    No problem mate, they're going in your Race I guess?

    As for the GMK GB I'm in for both the mod packs until I find out how much Christmas is going to cost me...if the damage isn't too bad I'll add a Commodore kit :D.

    That's the plan :)

    Speaking of group buys, is it normal for them to take seven months (and counting) before any caps actually turn up?

    That's an open question to anyone. Seems excessive to me, but I'm not a seasoned GH GB veteran.

    Depends on the GB;

    Group Buy = Invoice to all delivered - Start to finish
    PBT Dyesubs Round 2 = 4 Months - 6 Months
    DSA Macross = 1 Month - 4 Months
    CMYK = 2 Months - 3 Months
    Dolch = 4 Months - 7 Months
    PBT 104/105 set ROUND 3 = ??? - ??? But it has started a year ago
    Doubleshot Replacements Round 4 = ??? - 2 Years :lol:

    It really depends on how the GB is organized. Most people are now used to PMK's system going to a shop where they put in money one end and receive their set on the other.
    GMK for example has a much higher MOQ so it takes longer to reach and then to go into production.
    The Round 3 buy hit a few snags along the way when the provided plastics didn't work all that well for what was intended. It happens. Not Ivan's fault though.

    In my experience, the more drama a set causes, or the longer it takes, the more worth it is in the end. Both in a financial as well as emotional sense.
    That's why I haven's sold a single one of my keysets yet.

    Which GB are you talking about?

    I have a Taihao granite and addon set on order on GH. By the time it arrives I may not even want it any more.

    Just seems a long time. Like you said, people are used to buying things over the counter - I might have invested more and bought several by now if was an instant purchase.

    I'm probably just not cut out to wait that length of time.

    I've learned not to complain about that...

    Edit: At this rate I fully expect it to be 2 years between payment and delivery...

    I paid for my GH60s in May 2013, paid for my sprit 75% in January 2014 and don't have either yet...

    I paid for my Phantom in March 2012 and I'm pretty sure didn't get it until December 2012 which doesn't seem all that bad now actually...

    To be fair to GBs in general, the GH60 is a particularly bad one. I don't think many people that are running it now were involved from the start and have picked up what others have dropped after they have disapeared off the face of the earth...

    I've basically given up on ever seeing both in the hope that one day I'll wake up suprised with them on my doorstep :D.

    I'd say that 6 months from payment to delivery for the average GB is about right.

    If I get these in January, which is a possibility, it's the equivalent of buying off the shelf compared to your examples.

    Ok, that settles it - I'm not built for group buys.

    You just need to know which ones to go for...Any run by Ivan/[CTRL]alt/Matt3o I'd say you can jump straight in with no fear...Anyone else you're not sure about it just remember that it's better to not jump on board early and pick the caps/board up later on in the classifieds then it is to jump in at the group buy phase and get ripped off.

    There are usually loads of orders from group buys that pop up in the classifieds just after the buy finishes so you can usually get what you're looking for after the fact anyway.

    But yes, GBs in general are a patient mans game :D.

    Just remember to factor in VAT/import tax in the price, I think it can be up to 20% on top of whatever MD put on the customs label + £8 to Royal Mail...I always get hit by customs fees with Massdrop (I think the only time I didn't was when I ordered a $12 wallet).

    I think the threshold for item value is $20 or £20 (I can't remember which) before you get hit for customs fees.

    I need some Costar stabiliser advice. Can I get a 6.25x plate mount Costar stab from somewhere for a spacebar that currently uses Cherry? Alternatively, has anyone got one lying about? Inserts for attaching spacebar also required.

    Also, trying to make a last-minute decision on Deep Space. Help.

    WASD sell 6.25u Costar stabs IIRC, would be pretty pricy to get shipped over here though. The black plate inserts and white cap inserts can be had from the Keyboard Co for silly money (£2 each plus vat plus postage), you'd still need a wire though (the Cherry one isn't compatible).
