The quickfir xt is now mine, for a decent price at 60 spondoolies posted. If anyone knows where I can get some cheap orings that be much appreciated.

    PM your address, mate.

I have plenty spare from a early, misguided flirtation with o-rings.

Why anyone would spend their hard-earned on a mech board then spend extra to make it feel more like a rubber dome is beyond me.

Also, whether you like the feel of o-rings or not (I despise them), they do nothing to silence the return sound with is about 80% as loud as the clack when bottoming out in normal typing.

I'm with Dave, it's mental. Kills the feel and doesn't kill enough of the noise to make it worthwhile. However, some insane people swear by them so I guess it's only fair to let people make up their own minds :)

Yes, please draw your own conclusions, but I'm certainly not a fan of them.

I still keep a couple o rings on some keycaps but not on anything normal - some of my metal caps benefit.

Thanks for the very kind offer dave. I don't want to bother you with the hassle if it's not particularly beneficial. My main reason for going mech is to try and avoid bottoming out and save my poor stubby fingers from the abuse my furious typing provides. Considering that, adding orings is likely to be counter productive as it will shorten the travel, so I will see how things go without first.

Thanks again ace. (what a guy)

Havent seen this thread and remember being awful snooty about Mechs back in 2012 when the craze first started hitting..

Just to say, I'm still on the same K60 w. Reds I won three years ago, and am so addicted to it I also have one at work. That being said, I don't understand how some of you guys can survive without numpads on your keyboards..

I suppose if you're purely using you system for gaming it makes a bit more sense, but otherwise I really don't.

That is one good looking keyboard. Shame about the naff logo at the top. It's what I'd probably get for at home if I wasn't saving for Sweden and a new mobo.

Which rat mouse is that? I have a 7 and love the pinky shelf.

I'm not suggesting you shouldn't try them, mate - I'm saying that, my way, at least it won't cost you to find out if you like them or not.

    The offer remains, regardless. :)

Oh I'm not buying. I'm invading
Thanks. I shall give it at least a couple of weeks use and see how things are before I start tampering with it. There weren't any on the ones I've tried, i thought it would help with the bottoming out by cushioning the blow. But if my ultimate goal is to stop bottoming out then not having them there will probably be an advantage.

How is this in any conceivable way new?:

Jinq, I'll be interested to hear your opinions once yours arrives. Insubstantial wear to the caps, but I'm still far from impressed.

    :sigh:

well if you only just got it, then it's new, right?

that does look a bit rubbish, and pretty shady if sold as new. and by shady i mean a flat out lie.

That's not even the pad that was pictured - the Goldtouch logo is a different colour - I'm pretty sure that listing shows the 077 (same as my pad), what model do you have there? Does it still have the USB ports on either side?

That's the old KeyOvation logo, which I'm sure was changed some years ago.

It's the correct model though, with the USB hub and MX browns. But it ain't new (even old new stock would have been fine).
