I think that it will be ok after a few days, I might have to reprogram my PC at home so that Capslock is Control on my Filco too!

They are going to be very rare, I think that there is a limited initial run on them..

Ah that's a good idea. I just removed the Numlock key on my full size board to stop me using the number pad so much before going TKL!

forgive my insolence - and this is an honest and real question,

I get that mechs are better, I do prefer mechs, i like blues and I used to have one but it got pilferred away when I was at uni (which was a shame and made me sad) but -

What is the point in the custom keycaps and, why do they cost so much money?

My guess is - you do it because you can, and it adds a personal/customised feel to your board?

And they cost so much.....because someone is making them in their shed with some crazy big keycap machine?

You are right there, it's fun and something that I enjoy spending my money on as I look at my board all day everyday.

The cost is because each group buy is a custom run and has a 45 USD cost per custom legend or print so some get very expensive!

    :jawdrop: NEED!

Anyway, today was my first day using the school computers again, and only now do I realise how awful membrane boards are!

but why all the hate for membrane boards? I get that a cheap £2.95 keyboard is going to be a bad experience. But, like, I have had 3 g15's since my das board, and all of them the typing experience has been nice - and its not as if I don't type much as one of them I had to replace as I had worn all the keycaps out and had a small fault with the screen, which i tried to repair and ended up borking, the other I moved over to my office and I got another one for at home. I wouldn't have bought 3 if typing on domes was, "awful" - and this is after owning a mech with blues.

I will probably buy another mech when I have some extra pounds, but due to holidays and such coming up, my money is all tied up in fun outside stuff, so maybe the winter will bring me a new mech.

all the same - stop hating, its unhealthy :) hehe.

Well, I came from a Logitech G510, and to me there was no comparison, I can't believe people spend that much on a non mechanical board, I mean fair enough if all they can afford is £10, but if they're looking to spend £50+ a mechanical is the only way to go in my opinion (ofcourse I didn't tell this to the person buying my G510 so I could afford my mechanical :p)

yeah but i dont think I could have a keyboard without a screen anymore! I use it ALL the time, granted I think when they came out it was a bit of a gimmick, but, i love having it there these days.

I too, owned a first generation G15 for a few years and the screen was very usefull. But it broke and I learned to use different programs for it's many functions.
When I replaced it I got my current Deck and whenever I have to use a membrane board I get super annoyed. I can imagine the difference is not as big between the lighter switches and membrane, but I have come to rely on the tactile feedback of clears. Even now, when I use browns I keep bottoming out, which starts to hurt my fingers in the long run.
If I can help it, I won't use membrane boards anymore. It is that much of a difference to me. YMMV

    Also....
    China post tracking told me:
邮件号码 年份 状态 位置 邮件寄达国 状态发生日期 收件人签字
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2012 到达进口互换局 荷兰 荷兰 2012-06-09

Which pretty much means: "your package is now at customs, we wish you the best of luck"
Since customs in NL charges €12,50 for just opening and checking the package + 19% on top of value+shipping... I am probably looking at another €30 before I get my keyboard. :(
At least I can expect it to be delivered in a week or so. :')
