I can't touch-type. I regularly find myself on the ESDF cluster if I try gaming in the dark, and the same was true even when I did have a backlit board.

    That's me :D

I'm thinking of selling this Black Widow and moving on up. I want reds. I don't type enough to warrant the racket of blues. I like very light actuation. Best board for up to £70? I don't mind second hand at all.

(yes Hamza I am tempted by your Keycool, but I really want ISO if possible)

I would suggest the K60 but it has rubber domes on the ESC row :(

See if you can find a cm storm with reds? Can get them in iso.

Reds are my favourite switch, you'll love em!

    Haha thanks np :)

Yes, a CM Storm would be your perfect choice IMO. Should be here in reds about August?

That unitek was a random ebay find. I have found many odd boards by not searching but browsing... of course it takes ages but if you don't have anything else to do. Speaking of ebay, I just got that TA 825 typewriter for $30 instead of the $90 the seller originally wanted merely by asking about getting some cheaper shipping options. I guess they had it listed for a long time? Amazing to get some Cherry dyesubs with blue legends no less at that price. I'm so excited.

You should just buy hamza's keycool. It's a good price and already in country so no paying for more expensive international shipping, plus ANSI is much better than iso.

At the cheap end of the mechanical keyboard spectrum what can I can get with Browns that isn't TenKeyLess?

If there aren't any options I suppose I could live with TKL so what would you recommend there?

    Thanks

Have a look for Cherry G80-1865, as far as I know it only comes in browns for that model number, it has tenkey but is still more compact size almost as small as tenkeyless. If you're not in a rush the Plum 96 should be available in other switch types soon too and it's a neat board only around $75.

Roccat is going Mechanial as well. :D
Take a look at their facebook page. They are currently asking people what their favourite switch would be.

Also, I just paid for my Portal Modifiers. Should be delivered in a week or so. Though I won't be home by then. :(

That's about the right sort of price. But currently neither have browns. :/

I know there are G80-1800 series boards with browns, maybe not widely available in UK? Not sure about release on the other Plum flavors, but I would imagine it won't be too long. I'm probably going to get one of the Plum next week. I really like the layout and it having wired and wireless connection option is nice too.

If you go TKL, get a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid.

If not, have a look at Lysol's options, especially that Plum board, I am honestly tempted by that! The layout is fantastic, my TT Meka had a similar layout and it was great having a numpad, but they messed up the arrow cluster totally. This seems like a much better solution.

    Dammit tempted...

Not sure here either, and I kinda like that I don't know why it appeals to me more that way.

Interesting review of the k60. Had been curious about that wrist rest for gaming, didn't know of the weird shaping of the wasd cluster.
Not the board for me which is a shame as I reckon the brushed metal finish is spot on.
